Did You Hold Any of These Big 2015 YTD Stock Gainers?


Heading into the last month of 2015, now is a good time to look back at some of the year’s biggest bulls. Here’s a quick look at some of the 2015 YTD stock gainers that are now up about 50% or more from where they were this time last year.

Activision Blizzard, Inc. (ATVI) – Up 76% YTD

One of the most recognized gaming companies in the world, Activision Blizzard had a great 2015. With a ton of successful franchises (Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Guitar Hero) and a great financial year, this stock has had a Bullish Power Gauge Rating and excellent relative strength to the S&P 500 since February.

NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA) – Up 55% YTD

This technology company creates some of the graphics processing units and other hardware that goes into mobile devices, video game systems, high-performance computing, and more. Part of the strong semiconductors industry, NVDA is up 55% this year, but most of its gains were made since August 2015.

Tesoro Corp. (TSO) – Up 47% YTD

A Texas-based oil refiner, Tesoro has benefitted strongly from low crude oil prices. They outperformed their already strong industry and showed strong earnings growth in 2015, too, which doesn’t hurt. The Chaikin Power Gauge has been Bullish on this stock for most of the year.

Total Systems Services, Inc. (TSS) – Up 63% YTD

As one of the biggest credit card processors in the US (with over $1 trillion/year in transactions), Total Systems Services steadily rose 63% YTD thanks in part to very strong revenue growth, exceeding industry standard.

Electronic Arts, Inc. (EA) – Up 65% YTD

One of the world’s largest video gaming companies, Electronic Arts had very strong growth in 2015, despite crossing below its long-term average in August. The Chaikin Power Gauge was Bullish on this stock up until then. Up 65%, it’s still one of the biggest 2015 YTD stock gainers.
